About the Speaker
Professor Shiyuan Cheng is a tenured professor in the Department of Neuroscience, Northwestern University, Chicago, USA. He is President of the Chinese American Association Against Cancer (USCACA) and founding President of the Chinese American Association for Cancer Research (ACACR). With glioma as the main research model system, Professor Cheng has developed new anticancer treatment methods targeting the molecular pathways of human tumor development and progression. He has delineated the mechanism of a series of star molecules, including angiopoietin-2, PDGF-B, EGFR, PDGFR, and DCBLD2, in glioma invasion, metastasis, and angiogenesis. He has published more than 100 academic papers in Cancer Cell, Nat Cell Biol, Mol Cell, Cancer Research, Proc Natl Acad Sci, Neuro-Oncology, J of Clinical Investigation, and many other high-impact journals. His publication has been cited more than 19,000 times and successively won the AAAS Fellow and other academic awards and honorary titles in the American biology field.
