About the State University of New York at Buffalo
Founded in 1846, the State University of New York at Buffalo ( University at Buffalo, the State University of New York, UB ) is located in Buffalo, the second largest city in New York State. Formerly a private medical university. It was merged into the State University of New York ( SUNY ) system in 1962 and is the strongest public flagship university, known as the Pearl in the Crown of SUNY. It is recognized as one of the 62 world-class research universities in North America.
The school has four Nobel laureates. Mr. Wu Dayou, the Father of Chinese Physics, had worked at the school for many years. Li Yanhong, founder and CEO of Baidu, and Zhou Ji, President of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and former Minister of Education of China all graduated from the school.
