About the Speaker

Liu Hong is a researcher at the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Currently, she is the PI and doctoral supervisor of the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences, deputy director of the Academic Committee of Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and dean of New School of Chinese Medicine, Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine. She mainly carries out new drug creation research for infectious diseases, tumors, metabolic diseases, senile dementia, and other major diseases, and has found a handful of candidates with in-depth research value, and several are undergoing comprehensive pre-clinical research.

She has published more than 400 papers in international academic journals such as Science, Nature, Chemical Reviews, Cell Metabolism, Nature Communications, Angewandte Chemie International Edition, and Journal of Medicinal Chemistry. She obtained more than 90 domestic and international invention patents and participated in the compilation of 14 monographs. Seven technology patents were transferred, and eight drug candidates have obtained clinical approval to enter clinical trials, of which three have completed clinical phase I and entered phase II.
