Professor Xuan Zhenyu, Chairman of Suzhou Youseen New Drug R&D, Talks about Upholding Tradition, Pursuing Innovation and the Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine

SUZHOU, China – On June 10, the "Entrepreneurs Enter University Campus" event, sponsored by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology and the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology and hosted by Soochow University, was successfully held at College of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The event featured Professor Xuan Zhenyu, Founder and Chairman of Suzhou Youseen New Drug R&D Co., Ltd., Director of the Institute for Innovative Translation of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Director of the Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine at Soochow University.

Faculty members and students attended the lecture in person, while participants from universities across Jiangsu Province joined online. The event also introduced recent initiatives by the College of Pharmaceutical Sciences to strengthen university-industry collaboration and prepare students for careers in pharmaceutical innovation.

In his keynote report entitled "Preserving Tradition, Advancing Innovation: The Modernization of Traditional Chinese Medicine.", Professor Xuan Zhenyu discussed how modern scientific methods can be used to investigate the principles of traditional Chinese medicine while preserving its distinctive theoretical foundations. The lecture was part of a provincial program that brings entrepreneurs to university campuses to connect academic education with industry experience. It provided students with perspectives on the integration of traditional knowledge, modern science and pharmaceutical development.
