The 9th International Pharmacy Students Academic Forum, hosted by the China Association for International Education (CAFSA) with the School of International Education and School of Science, China Pharmaceutical University (CPU), was held on Dec 11, 2022, aiming to promote the communication of talented students in the field of pharmacy. This forum was held in a combination of online and offline modes, adopting the up-to-date metaverse virtual venue technology. The forum attracted more than 200 Chinese and international students from Australia's Monash University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Tianjin University, Soochow University, Ningxia Medical University, Wenzhou Medical University, and China Pharmaceutical University. The attendees shared the latest scientific advances in drug discovery and development that help shape the current and future challenges in pharmaceutical sciences.
Ali Said and Shahin Alam, international Ph.D. students from our College, attended this forum, and both were selected to give an oral presentation. After fierce competition, Ali Said won the first prize for the research titled "RIP1KInhibition Contributes to Stabilizing the Lysosomal Membranes in Ischemic Astrocytes via Lysosomal Hsp70.1B-Dependent Mechanism", supervised by Professor Hui-ling Zhang.
