About the Speaker

Prof. Lai Ren is a researcher and doctoral supervisor at the Kunming Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has won the second prize in the National Technical Invention Award and the National Innovation Award.

Research direction: 1. Human disease mechanism and drug development (such as pain, thrombosis, autoimmune disease, tumor, infection, etc.); 2. Biological survival strategy and environmental adaptation mechanism, predation and defense strategy of venomous animals, and material basis and molecular mechanism of bioenvironmental adaptation. He has published over 250 SCI papers as the corresponding author in high-profile journals such as Nature Immunology, Immunity, Cell Research, Blood, Circulation Research, Science Advances, Chemistry Reviews, PNAS, National Science Review, Nature Communications, Current Biology, etc. He obtained two national 1.1 class new drug clinical approval.
