专家简介
Dr. Long-Jun Wu received PhD of Neurobiology at University of Science and Technology of China. He obtained postdoc trainings at University of Toronto and Harvard Medical School.
Currently, Dr. Wu is the C. Harold and Lorine G. Wallace Distinguished University Chair at the Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine for the Prevention of Human Diseases (IMM). He also serves as the Professor and Founding Director at IMM – Center for Neuroimmunology and Glial Biology. He was Professor of Neurology and Neuroscience at Mayo Clinic prior to joining UTHealth Houston in 2024.
Dr. Long-Jun Wu’s research is focused on neuroimmune interactions, particularly microglia function, in health and disease. His team employs genetic animal models along with a combination of advanced tools such as two-photon imaging, electrophysiology and awake-behavioral studies. The long-term vision of Dr Wu’s research is to identify and manipulate microglia-specific therapeutic targets that will complement existing treatment of neurological disorders, including epilepsy, pain, stroke, neurodegeneration and autoimmune diseases.
